The Three Sisters Cooking Workshop
We are excited to invite you to this collaborative cooking event taking place at Kulturhuset Klossen in Ålidhem,
We work with the collective cooking format as a critical practice and aim to create a public space where we can come together and engage in conversation around the aesthetics and politics of food. Our point of departure for the workshop is our shared interest in questions of sustainability, ethics, and land-based practices entangled in contemporary food- and agriculture.
During the workshop, we will cook together using ingredients inspired by the “three sisters” – beans, corn, and squash – a long-standing companion planting tradition. Through the process of cooking and sharing a meal, we will reflect on the interrelations between land, food, and community, and discuss how stories and knowledge are carried through recipes and collective making.
You are more than welcome to bring any ingredients or recipes you’d like to share — we just ask that everything we cook is vegan. Otherwise, come as you are, when you can, and join us in cooking and eating snacks, soup, and cake together.
The event is open to everyone and free of charge. No previous cooking experience is required — only curiosity and a willingness to take part.
Please let us know if you plan to attend by emailing maria_kamilla@outlook.com
