The Artist's way: Creative Recovery Program

What would you create if you weren't afraid? The Artist's Way is a transformative 12-week program designed to help individuals unlock their creativity, overcome blocks, and reconnect with their innate creative potential.

The Artist's way

This initiative comesfrom Julia Cameron's groundbreaking book that has helped millions of people worldwide rediscover their creative voice.Whether you're a professional artist, someone exploring creativity outside the artworld, or simply curious about developing your creative potential, this studycircle offers a safe sanctuary to share insights, joys, and difficulties about the creative process. The work we'll do together isn't only relevant for artists—it will affect all aspects of your life.

Content

Elsa Gomis will facilitate the 12 meetings when you get to reflect on your process.

She will provide a study plan that you will follow together during the course and will also be able to give you support and inspiration during the process of the study circle.

Materials

In addition to this study plan, you will need:

- The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron

(available in bookstores or as an online book)

- A notebook for Morning Pages

- A notebook for other exercises and notes

- A willingness to commit to the weekly practices

Group Rules

Before starting, it's essential to establish some key rules for the group to work at

its best:

  • CONFIDENTIALITY is essential. What is said in the group stays in the group. This is a safe sanctuary where we can all share insights, joys, and difficulties about the creative process.
  • We encourage ‘benevolent and non-judgmental attitudes’ toward each other. Sometimes it's better to articulate things aloud so everyone feels comfortable.

Participation Guidelines:

  • Speak in "I"-form rather than generalizing terms like "one" or "people"
  • Allow everyone to speak without interruption
  • Interpret kindly and don't judge
  • Encourage each other to put words to difficult thoughts
